Administration

1. Describe your administrative structure. Do you have an organizational chart? Is this clearly understood by the institution’s personal and students? How often is this revised?

The Administrative structure is based as follows. Board of Directors, Principal, Vice Principal and Dean of Academics, Dean of Students, Director of Admissions, Administrators, Central Co-ordinator of the Extension Centers, Director of Public Relations, Co-coordinator DTP work, Chaplain and Director of Evangelism.

2. Is the administrative structure adequate to support the mission and vision of the institution?

The present administrative structure is adequate to support the mission and vision of the Institution. As the college grows, it will need changes.

3. Please list the name of your administrators and their term of office.

Every year the Board of Directors appoint the Principal and all the administrators of the College for a period of one year at a time.

4. Describe the governing board of the institution of its membership profile, election or appointment, role and functions, terms of office, meetings, practice and pattern of communication.

The Governing Board consists of Tamilnadu A.G. Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Secretary, Treasurer, Principal, SIAG Chairman, All India A.G. Superintendent. They meet once a year for the Board Meeting. The Bible College Administrative Committee consists of Principal, Academic Dean and the Dean of Students. Other faculty members are given various portfolios along with teaching such as Director of Admission, Evangelism Director, Director of public Relations, and so on. The faculty meeting is conducted every month for Prayer and Fellowship; students matters are also discussed. Student Body has different leaders such as President, Hostel Secretary, Evangelism Secretary and Prayer Secretary and so on. They meet once in a month with the Dean of Students. Principal; the faculty also join the meeting.

  • The Principal, who is the Secretary of the Board of Directors, is appointed by the Board every year.
  • The Faculty Representative is selected by the principal on seniority basis.
  • All the other members are part of it by the virtue of their offices; they are elected by various regions of the Assemblies of God.

The Secretary of the Board in consultation with the Chairman send notices for the annual or specially called Board meetings. Minutes are kept by the Secretary and is Communicated to the members of the Board. The Principal and College Administration implement the decisions of the Board.

5. Describe the involvement of the board members in the promotion of the institution and in the life and ministry of the faculty, staff and students.

The Board of Directors meet once a year after the Annual Graduation Day. They participate in the graduation celebration and meet on the following day to conduct the annual board meeting. They make the Service Rules. They appoint the Principal, Faculty and Staff for every academic year. They are interested in the smooth functioning of the college, progress and promotion of the college and the well being of the faculty, staff and students. The Principal, the faculty and staff are answerable to the Board.

6. If the President/Director or any of the administrative officers has served in that position less than five years, please give the name of the previous administrators and their reason for leaving

The Dr. L. Jeyapalan served in this institution as the Principal from 2008-11. He retired on March 2011. Rev.Dr. Samuel Raj,R. who has served here as the Principal from 2011-15. Since 2015 Rev. Dr. T. S. Rajasekar is the Principal until now. Except Pastors Samson, Allison, Sam Alan Jim, Lindsey Jones, Stephen Raja and Anni Singh all the other faculty members are serving in this institution for more than ten years.

7. Describe the institution’s climate in terms of the relationship of the President with administrative officers, faculty and staff.

It is smooth and steady. The climate of the institution in terms of the relationship of the Principal with administrative officers, faculty and staff is amicable. Job descriptions are given to all administrators, faculty and staff so that they fulfill their responsibilities. Periodical faculty meetings are conducted to discuss and decide of matters related to development and promotion of the college.

8. What is the employee turnover in the institution? What would be the likely reason for the slow or fast turnover or personnel?

In the past eight years, six new appointments have been done in faculty recruitment. It is to fill in the vacancy created by the retirement of three faculty members.

9. What system of performance evaluation is used? Who conducts the evaluation and to what extent do the institution personnel participate in the evaluation process?

At present, the evaluation is done by each department and progress under the leadership of the respective faculty and staff. The evaluation is done through the observation by the Principal and the Board of Directors.

10. What strategies are employed to foster commitment to leadership as servant hood among administrative and program staff?

Spirituality, Punctuality, faithfulness, hard work, Co-operation with the head of the institution and other staffs are emphasized to foster commitment to leadership as servant hood among administrative and program staff.

11. What are the standing committees of the institution’s administration? How are these composed, how often do they meet, and what patterns of communication are being observed so that committee decisions are well received and implemented?

The standing committee comprises of the Administrative Committee and Faculty Members. They meet periodically to discuss various needs. The Dean of Students stay inside the campus and oversee the students’ activities and give them counsel and guidance. The administrative committee meets periodically. The head of each department is responsible to work in harmony with the Principal and the other faculty members. When needs arise, matters are brought to the faculty meetings for discussion and recommendations. The decisions of the faculty meetings are implemented.

12. Institution and community relations begin within the organization. What is being done to promote good human relations among the members of the institution and family and how is this reflected in the Institutions relationship with the immediate community and constituency in general? What channels available for your constituency to communicate its needs and opinions to program administrators?

Every week on Wednesday, the teaching and non-teaching staff meet together for prayer for one hour. The families of the staff do not live inside the campus. The teaching staff meet with students care groups once a month. Evening games allow the staff and Students to play together. Occasionally, the staff members are invited to dine with the students to enjoy fellowship. The Student Body Council meet once a month. The teaching faculty also attend this council to help them in their needs and problems.

13. What are the strengths and areas needing improvements in administrative aspects of the institution? How do you plan to achieve these improvements?

The college is growing proportionately in the student body, faculty, staff and new program development, and improvements need to be done in the following areas: Library, Dormitories, and classroom. At present the campus and the rooms are enough for 100 students. (Now we have 72 students).

The staff members are requested to spend more time during the week in helping with the needs and problems of the students.To meet with the above needs, classrooms, dormitories and indoor recreation centers are under construction.

14. Does the management have succession plan?

Yes, it is done on minority basis.
